About Us

Butterfly Essence was started a few years ago by Leah and Gene Sturt, it was a way to help out friends and "friends not-met-yet" to find their way into a more holistic life-style or to provide additional information and supplies to those who's previous experiences had lead them to Leah's doorstep.  The name, Butterfly Essence, was carefully chosen to show the beautiful and life-altering transformation that was taking place within Leah herself, and society in the greater sense.

Leah has always been a rock hound, searching endlessly from the time she was a small child for those wonderful, beautiful crystals and stones.  The earth sings for Leah, and she can hear the melodies in the stones she is drawn to.  It doesn't matter to Leah if her stones and crystals are not flawless or perfectly clear, in fact it's the variations in colors and unique formations of each stone that attract her attention in the first place.  A stone is more "alive" to her if it has "beauty marks".

As a store-front operation, Butterfly Essence was an oasis for the thirsty spiritual travelers, providing a resting place filled with the scents and sights of an exotic pavilion.  Everything from the incense kept faithfully burning to gently cleanse the air and the energies and auras of the customers, to the rocks and crystals sparkling and glowing from every corner, was welcoming and embracing.  Meditational and inspirational card sets gave the mind and soul of the customer direction and a positive message to encourage further exploration of themselves.  Salt lamps made from Himalayan salt hundreds of million years old illuminated the spiritual pathways and reminded everyone of the ongoing creativity of life. 

Now, as an on-line store, Butterfly Essence has taken on a new mission to continue to help spread the seeds of spiritual growth even farther afield.  As Leah says, it's time for a change...  and new growth.
